When companies merge, uncertainty about employment terms often arises. Luckily, Finansforbundet has secured good conditions for you under the collective agreement if you lose your job. However, differences may exist among the collective agreements so make sure to always ask your union representative what rules apply at your workplace.
Notice periods in connection with termination – how much notice do you have?
- 0 to 3 months (trial period): 14 days in the trial period (i.e. before 2½ months)
- Less than 6 months: 1 month
- 6 months - 3 years: 3 months
- 3 years - 6 years: 4 months
- 6 years - 9 years: 5 months
- 9 years or more: 6 months
Severance pay under the standard collective agreement (STOK)
If you have been employed for 12 years and have reached the following age at the time of your exit, you are entitled to:
- 1 month's pay if you have reached the age of 40
- 2 months' pay if you have reached the age of 45
- 3 months' pay if you have reached the age of 50
- 5 months' pay if you have reached the age of 55
- 6 months' pay if you have reached the age of 60
If you are terminated owing to the affairs of the company and do not meet the requirements for severance pay under the Danish Salaried Employees Act or the standard collective agreement (for instance have not been employed for 12 years), you are entitled to 1 month of severance pay.
Outplacement and training
In case of termination due to cost savings or restructuring, you are entitled to:
- An outplacement programme with a minimum of 8 sessions of 1-2 hours, tailored to your needs and goals.
- Time off with pay is granted in the notice period for participation in outplacement activities and qualifying training.
