I can't imagine a greater honour
Her colleagues managed to catch Pernille Dehn off guard. She is one of this year's Skulderklap prize winners and had no idea that she was nominated.
"I was very touched, very happy and very proud. I can't think of a greater honour than winning an award because your colleagues nominate you for being a good colleague."
Communications advisor and union representative Pernille Dehn had to shed a tear when her colleagues paid tribute to her in connection with a joint breakfast table in December.
Cancelled
She had signed up for the Christmas event without suspecting what was in store – and when she got extra busy, she decided the day before to cancel her attendance.
"It prompted one of my colleagues to write to me that it was probably a good idea for me to show up. There was perhaps a little surprise, she wrote."
Pernille Dehn imagined that it was a common surprise for the department, and showed up for the flag decoration and festive atmosphere - without guessing that it was in her honour.
Congratulations prematurely
A colleague even congratulated her before the unveiling, but her colleagues still managed to surprise her with the Skulderklap prize (‘a pat on the shoulder’) when a speech was given immediately afterwards.
In both the speech and the nomination, emphasis was placed on the fact that Pernille Dehn, who has worked for almost ten years at Nordea, is a power woman, role model and culture bearer. She is professionally skilled and has worked with many different areas of communication, and inspires others with her sincere curiosity to understand and learn new things, e.g. AI.
She may seem a little tough at first meeting, it says in the nomination, but quickly turns out to be both sweet and funny. And she is always helpful to her colleagues, whom she also likes to praise.
The courage of her opinions
In addition, she has the courage of her opinions and likes to speak out loud on topics such as the importance of work-life balance. On the whole, she dares to ask the difficult questions to the management, in a constructive way.
Many good qualities that also fit well into the role of being a union representative. Pernille Dehn decided herself to seek out this opportunity for development last year, and is now well underway with her basic education.
35 years with the Skulderklap prize - and Finansforbundet in Nordea
What is today called Finansforbundet in Nordea was founded on 12 January 1991 in Odense Congress Center under the name Unikreds. It happened the year after Privatbanken, Andelsbanken and Sparekassen SDS merged to form Unibank.
Unikreds later changed its name to Nordkreds, Kreds Nordea and now Finansforbundet in Nordea.
At the same time as Unikreds was founded, a fund was set up to support members who have made a special effort for their colleagues. The Skulderklap Prize is always distributed close to Finansforbundet in Nordea's birthday.
That's why Finansforbundet in Nordea has marked our 35th birthday yesterday by celebrating the six Skulderklap Prize winners Daoud, Lars, Lene, Marikka, Niels-Ole and Pernille - first with a small treat at Finansforbundet's newly renovated head office at Christianshavn, and afterwards they will be celebrated with lunch in Cafe og Øl-Halle at The Workers' Museum. Soon, we'll publish an article from this celebration.
