The vast majority of Finansforbundet in Nordea’s members are native Danes but the board and secretariat do their best to make the AGM accessible for English speaking members as well.

The presidency’s oral report is translated and printed so the international members can read it, and the election portal and articles are in both languages.

“It is important for us that everyone can participate, join the dialogue and be part of the democratic elections – and network with the community and enjoy the ‘hygge’ as well. That’s why we offer interpretation into English,” Kasper Skovgaard Pedersen, president of Finansforbundet in Nordea, says.

Nice effort to include non-Danish speaking members

In 2025, three members requested interpretation into English. Arian Šajina from Markets was one of the English speaking participants. He is from Croatia and has lived in Denmark and worked in Nordea as well for six years.

“It was nice that Finansforbundet in Nordea has made some efforts to include members who don’t speak Danish. Of course something got lost when the debates are in Danish, but thanks to the translations it was possible to follow the main points. It was also nice see familiar and new faces at the AGM and chatting with the other internationals at our table,” says Arian Šajina.

Helped translating

Judit Toth from KYC Business Change & Process Excellence is originally from Hungary but has lived in Denmark for the past 20 years. She helped with translating from Danish to English.

“It was a good and engaging event. The English speaking members were sitting together during the AGM, and we enjoyed ourselves and had a good chat. I especially like the debate between the board and the members. I attempted to translate the Q&A as good as I could but it’s difficult to keep track of both questions and answers,” Judit Toth says. She has already signed up for the AGM 6 March 2026.

English speaking? Sign up by 15 January

Finansforbundet in Nordea hope more non-Danish speaking members will join the AGM this year.
Members who want interpretation into English should register no later than 15 January and indicate their wish.
