In a world that is increasingly challenging us with an accelerating pace, complexity and change, robustness has become a necessary life skill to possess.
Robustness is not a shield that makes us invulnerable so we can handle anything. Instead, it is about how we can maintain the best and healthiest in ourselves, and can, despite pressure, think and make conscious choices about how we want to deal with the pressure we face.
We are not all born equally robust, but we can all develop and strengthen our resilience with the right knowledge, self-insight and training.
Birgitte Dam Jensen. Birgitte has been working professionally with robustness and stress for more than 15 years. Her background is partly from theatre, the Danish Defense (military) and as a psychotherapist with specialty in chock, trauma and resilience. She is the author of the book “Preserve yourself - robust in an unpredictable future” and produces the podcast “Preserve yourself”. Book and podcast are in Danish.
