Corona restrictions have cancelled the traditional Pride parade, where 60,000 Danish and international participants would have marched through Copenhagen together. However Copenhagen 2021, which includes both World Pride and the sporting event Eurogames, will nonetheless leave its mark on the city between 12 and 22 August, drawing awareness to LGBT+ rights.

Finansforbundet supports Copenhagen 2021 as Community Supporter.
‘Diversity and inclusion are part of our political programme. Therefore, it is natural for us to support WorldPride,’ says Steen Lund Olsen, Vice-President of Finansforbundet.

Two years ago, Finansforbundet participated in the Pride parade together with Nordea. However, this year, Finansforbundet wanted to organise a parade with its own members and employees at WorldPride Walk, which will take place on 21 August. Here, around 10,000 total participants in different walks will walk from different places in Copenhagen to Fælledparken in Østerbro, where they will congregate.

‘We hope that many members want to draw attention to the rights of LGBT+ persons to be themselves by participating in the parade,’ says Steen Lund Olsen, pointing to the union’s slogan, ‘The right to be you’, which will appear on T-shirts, banners and so on between 12 and 22 August.
