The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of virtual collaboration, but it has been a development in progress for many years.

Virtual collaboration has become the new normal, and as a result, leaders should be familiar with the principles of effective distance leadership and the pitfalls associated with being physically separated from their teams.

This course is designed to help IT leaders who have distributed employees, teams, or departments navigate the complexities of distance leadership.

As a distance leader, you typically face the following challenges

  • Fewer informal opportunities to build relationships and trust
  • Increased risk of misunderstandings due to the lack of physical presence and communication barriers
  • Fewer social cues to gauge motivation and sense of purpose
  • Risk of falling into the "out of sight, out of mind" trap
  • Changed prerequisites for team building and networking
  • A sense of loss of control

After the course, you will

  • Have insights into the principles of effective remote leadership
  • Know practical tools to address the challenges associated with leading at a distance
  • Understand how you build relationships and trust in a remote setting
  • Enhace your communication skills to overcome barriers and minimize misunderstandings
  • Learn techniques to motivate and engage remote teams effectively

Target Audience
IT leaders who have distributed employees, teams, or departments. This course is suitable for leaders at all levels of experience who need to effectively lead in a virtual work environment.
